RUNNING SHOE BUYERS GUIDE
Running shoes can be divided into two main categories, Road Running and Trail. Which category you choose will depend largely on where you plan on running.

ROAD RUNNING SHOES |  TRAIL RUNNING SHOES

ROAD RUNNING SHOES

Road running shoes are designed for paved surfaces and the occasional runs on packed dirt/gravel (less even surfaces). They are light, flexible and made to cushion or stabilize feet during repetitive strides on hard or even surfaces. They have flatter and smoother soles for running on pavement. Road Running shoes are best for people looking to run on sidewalks, roads, treadmills or tracks. They are divided into 3 main categories (based on level of support).

TRAIL RUNNING SHOES

Trail running shoes are designed for off-road runs with rocks, mud, roots and other obstacles. They have more traction than road running shoes and are sometimes fortified with plates underfoot to help protect feet from rocks. They are generally stiffer to offer more support on rugged trails and uneven surfaces. They are divided into 3 main categories (based on terrain type).
