Details
If you only own one mountain bike, it should be the Fuel EX.
Designed for all-round trail and all-mountain riding, this super capable and best in class bike will take you there. From Gatineau Park, to South March Highlands, and beyond, this is the do everything ride.
Shuffling things up and dealing a royal flush of adjustability, capable handling, and a playful ride, Fuel EX is back with it's 6th generation. It gets longer-travel suspension, all-new frame and revised geometry, plus frame storage on all models.
The Fuel EX 8 features a strong and light Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame with a Shimano XT drivetrain for snappy, precise shifting. 4-pot Shimano M6120 brakes keeps the ride under control.
The 150mm Fox Rhythm fork with GRIP damper makes easy work of rocks and roots while the 140mm Fox Float X shock keeps you in control. You get all the perks that come with the carbon models, but without the lofty price tag.
Due to supply-chain issues, specs are subject to change without notice.
Mino Link lets you easily tweak your geometry - both headtube agnle and bottom bracket height at the same time for more nimble or more stable handling.
Angle adjusting headset cups (sold separately) tweak the 64.5-degree headtube angle a degree steeper or slacker to your liking, all without impacting your bottom bracket height (for ground clearance).
Steeper = nimble, slacker = stable
All Trek Fuel EX, aluminium and carbon, come tubeless out of the box. Sealant, valves, and rim stips included.
Ditching the tubes and going tubeless will help you get the most performance out of your tires. There are no tubes to pinch, so you can run lower pressures for better traction, and you get more control and a smoother, faster ride. As an added bonus, a tubeless setup can help seal punctures before they become flats.
Easily adjust suspension progression with just a flip of a chip.
Ride it in the Less progressive setting for a plusher feel perfect for rugged trails loaded with square-edge bumps. Flip it to More progressive when you’re riding fast, hitting big features, and don’t want to bottom out — or if you want to roll with a coil shock.

Fuel EX 8 is our best selling full suspension mountian bike! It's a great choice for someone who rides hard and prioritizes value for spec. The 6th generation of Fuel EX has brought some huge changes, making it the real Swiss Army Knife of mountain bikes. If you're going to own a single bike to ride anywhere in eastern Canada, make it a Fuel EX.
One upgrade we would make out of the box - the grips. The Bontrager XR Trail Elite grips can feel a bit stiff and don't absorb bumps as well as others do. Our favourites are Diety Knuckleduster and Chromag Format grips.
