Mavic’s Aksium Disc combines high grade, lightweight materials with great ride quality in a disc-brake version. Its straight-pull spokes add stiffness and strength, and Mavic increased the spoke count to 24 on both front and rear wheels, laced in a 2-cross pattern to ensure brake torque is handled with ease. With a 17mm internal width, these rims are compatible with tires up to 32mm, making them versatile, comfortable, and built for lots of traction.
The disc-specific hubs feature precise QRM bearings that provide low friction and long-term durability, without maintenance. And, the front wheel is easily converted from quick release to a 15mm through-axle to fit through-axle forks, resulting in added stiffness and security. Aksium Disc wheels are available in International Standard 6-Bolt (with Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo freehub body) and Center Lock (with Shimano/SRAM freehub body only).
Force Transfer System Light:
Reinforcement of a key transmission component: the contact area between the pawl and the hub body is reinforced by two stainless steel inserts, which allows the use of a 100% aluminum hub body.
Qualité de Roulements Mavic:
Mavic uses only high-quality sealed cartridge bearings. On QRM wheels, these bearings feature double seals (2RS or LLU) along with tight, C3 internal clearances.
H2 involves the local strengthening of the rim in the area where the spokes exert the greatest stress. This helps ensure rim longevity and resistance to stress fractures at the spoke holes, a common failure point in aluminum rims.
