Lightweight, breathable, insulated hoody; Ideal as a stand-alone piece in fair weather, or as a layering piece in cold conditions. Atom Series: Synthetic insulated mid layers | LT: Lightweight. This trim hybrid hoody is designed as an active-use insulation layer, providing vital core warmth with liberal mobility and breathability. Lightweight and compressible, the Atom LT Hoody features Coreloft™ insulation in the torso, arms and hood. The side panels and underarms feature Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® Technology, delivering stretch mobility and breathability. A wind and moisture resistant outer shell extends stand-alone usability. ESSENTIAL PIECE Fact: Every person at Head Office owns at least one Atom LT; most of the women have two. The reason: Coreloft™ insulation inside a light taffeta shell. All the comfort of a sleeping bag, but it feels weightless. WINDSHELL The benefit of taffeta fabrics is their light, airy nature with an ability to turn aside wind. The Atom series have a taffeta outer lining that is treated with DWR (durable water resistant) finish to give them a long-lasting ability to shed moisture. DWR protects against light precipitation. NO SWEAT Mid layers that can function as outer layers have varied degrees of weather shedding capability; they also have varied degrees of moisture management. In addition to being made of breathable Coreloft™ insulation, the Atom LT has breathable side panels of Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface™ technology to help regulate temperature during exertion. PACK LIGHT Highly compressible, Atom pieces pack down into a tiny parcel of stored warmth. Store the jacket inside its own pocket, or tuck it into a sleeve or inside the hood if you are not restricted by space. A quick shake restores the original loft, time and again.
Designed for city winters, the Patera is elegant, sophisticated and technically advanced. Lofty, light 750 fill power European goose down and Coreloft™ synthetic insulation combine for warmth and comfort. A supple P75d GORE-TEX® fabric with 2L technology outer shell provides complete protection from wind, snow and rain. A low profile insulated hood provides warmth and full coverage protection. An internal draft collar helps seal in heat, shaped cuffs cover the hands, and wrist gaskets add extra protection against cold. IN THE RIGHT PLACE Using Down Contour Construction™ and Down Composite Mapping™ technologies, Arc’teryx designers place specific insulations where they provide the greatest benefit. 750 fill power European Goose down lines the core and sleeves where loft is most needed. Because it retains warmth when wet, Coreloft™ synthetic insulation is used at the hem, collar, sleeves and under the arms, all areas prone to contact with moisture. The strategic placement of this insulation also reduces bulk, giving the Patera a streamlined look that belies its exceptional warmth. ELEGANCE, SUBSTANCE, AND STYLE Features and fabric show the intention behind the Patera. With urban environments in mind, the Arc’teryx design team chose a GORE-TEX® fabric that has a subtle textured surface that provides a soft natural feel and modern look without sacrificing weather protection. Discreet hand pockets keep small items accessible, and an internal security pocket safely holds a smartphone, wallet or passport. Freedom of movement is built in with gussets under the arm and articulation in the sleeves, and the women’s specific design puts a focus on optimal performance, comfort and fit.

The Microlight Alpine has long been the go-to choice for anyone needing lightweight, packable insulation in the mountains, but for this winter Rab have given it a complete overhall to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. You now get a jacket which includes every brilliant feature of the last generation, but with a completely new and improved fit, glove-friendly cuffs, a superior hood and a whole range of new colours. Previously, the Microlight Alpine was made using two panels of fabric stitched together at the sides, however Rab have doubled that to feature a panel at the front, one at the back and two individual ones either side; this massively improves the fit and creates a body-hugging seal around you to ensure limited heat can escape (the more space inside a jacket which you aren't filling, the more your body has to heat up this space, therefore reducing efficiency). You can still move around and layer underneath easily, however it just makes it more efficient when you're in cold mountainous environments. Insulation is provided by a high quality 750 fill power hydrophobic goose down (try saying that ten times). What's special about Rab's down is the treatment and the way it is sourced; Rab only use R.D.S (responsible down sourced) insulation, meaning birds aren't live plucked or mistreated before the down is collected. A hydrophobic treatment is then applied to all these little clusters of down to ensure they retain more heat, loft better and resist moisture if you happen to get caught out in a light shower. This does not make this a waterproof jacket, however it will perform better than untreated down. Providing additional warmth is a well-fitting hood which is fully insulated, adjustable and will, at a push, fit a helmet underneath if you're belaying. Moving to the outer, Rab use a Pertex Quantum fabric to provide a lightweight barrier against the elements. This fabric is water resistant, wind resistant, breathable and will protect the down against general wear and tear. The nature of this fabric also allows it to slip easily over or under additional layers. For storage options, you get two nicely sized hand warmer pockets and a chest pocket which contains a stuff sack, perfect for attaching onto a harness or to protect the jacket in a rucksack full of kit. Updated cuffs for this year allow you to fit bulky gloves comfortably underneath, whilst still remaining snug when it's not freezing. With a clean, uncluttered and minimalist design, this lightweight insulating piece is the perfect winter midlayer/outer layer for all mountain activities. It also performs brilliantly as a piece to wear for everday duties and the occasional pub stop after a day in the hills! Packable Lightweight Ideal as a mid or outer layer Wind resistant Warm down insulation Hydrophobically treated Two hand pockets One chest pocket Included stuff sack Upgraded fit, cuffs and hood Weight: 417g Insulation: 750FP Hydrophobic Goose Down Outer fabric: 30D Nylon
