Important Trek Recall Notice,
We have just received a recall notice from Trek. They are recalling some bike models equipped with specific Promax hydraulic disc brakes.
The reason for the recall is related to a couple Promax hydraulic disc brake models wherein the brake hose can detach from the brake lever posing a crash hazard.

It is important to note that this in not a blanket recall. Not all bikes from these models are affected, only those with specific serial numbers. These affected bikes will require testing in our service centers. Of those affected bikes, only bikes that fail the inspection will require replacement parts.
To determine if your bicycle is included in this recall, enter your bicycle’s serial number in the look-up tool at: Promax Recall Inquiry - Trek Bikes (CA) and follow the steps.
- If your bike serial number IS affected, please follow these steps.
1. Please stop riding your bike immediately.
2. Bring your bike into your store of choice, no appointment necessary. Click HERE for Store Location & Hours
3.We will inspect your bike right away.
a. If your brakes pass the inspection – you can keep riding.
b. If your brakes fail the inspection – we will replace the affected parts as soon a possible (subject to part availability).
- If your bike serial number IS NOT affected. You can keep riding!
