It has a center stripe as tradition dictates, but in a tasteful tone-on-tone coloring. This glove was designed for long-distance rides, with extra padding in the palm and premium materials throughout. The palm has gel padding and a poron insert at the median nerve, on top of an ultrasoft synthetic suede. The back of the hand uses endurance evolution fabric that's robust enough to keep the glove in place, while the four-way stretch makes it comfortable on long rides. The mesh back of hand and perforated premium AX Suede synthetic palm make this glove extremely comfortable. We gave it medium-density foam through the palm to satisfy riders who don't want a bulky glove, but we kept the Castelli Damping System median nerve padding. It features a microsuede nose wipe over the thumb, and the Velcro closure makes it easy to get on and off.

When Castelli puts the name Premio on a product, that's what it is, premium. This glove uses technology from the Premio bibshort on the back of the hand. The stretch woven fabric provides all-day comfort and support. For easy on and off they use a Velcro wrist closure that also keeps the glove in place. One of the most important parts of the glove is the palm: it needs to protect, and it's also one of the four points you use to contact the bike. The Castelli Damping System protects the median nerve, and silicone grips make sure you always have a good grip on the bar. You can officially only rate these warmers at UPF 50+, but in the laboratory tests they actually blocked 99.8 percent of damaging UV rays. Castelli used a polyester base that is not only more effective than nylon at blocking UV rays but is also much better at keeping you dry, which means these arm sleeves are better in both cooler and warmer conditions. Castelli kept the construction very clean to eliminate seams that can rub, and used the double-sided silicone elastic to make sure they stay in place. They fold up extremely small, so they’re great to stick in your pockets for your next big mountain day.
